- Claims to have grown up on a farm, and is experienced with farm animals, but our experience shows she has almost no knowledge of them?
- Accuses a neighbour of stealing a cow when it goes into the bush to calve, then destroys 170 metres of barbed wire fence to support her story?
- Neglects animals to the point where they have to be put down?
- Claims she loves animals but leaves her dog behind when vacating the property?
- Is happy to allow flies and mice to flourish around her?
- Can be charming one minute, then abusive the next?
- Prefers to sleep on the floor in the house or the back of her station wagon rather than in a bed?

- Pretends she is poor, but claims owns a rental property, drinks premium brands of beer and buys expensive cosmetics on her Visa card?
- Scams $20 from the local Neighbourhood Centre emergency fund to pay for a flat tyre, then goes to the nearest pub and puts over $30 through the poker machines?
- Presents bogus documents to support a claim for reimbursement of expenses?
- Lies to a Police Officer and, when confronted with the truth, tells another lie?
- Refuses to provide contact details for her next of kin or her legal representative? (She claimed to have a son and several siblings "who don't want to have anything to do with her")?
the Profile of a House Sitter from Hell
- Caucasian female, mid 50's, dark hair,
- Average height and medium to slim build with a "beer belly". Claims to have had two lots of plastic surgery, including a face lift. (I'd ask for my money back!)
- Never married, has one son and five siblings. Parents deceased.
- Well-dressed in conservative clothing.
- Travels in a dark grey/blue commodore station wagon, towing a small yellow and white caravan.
- Has a small female dog which she calls "XX". She claimed to have found it "by the side of the road"
- Very well-spoken until she has a few drinks and then becomes highly abusive.
- Displays short-term memory deficits and has a short attention span.
- Sleeps until 10 or 11 am each day.
- Smokes occasionally, generally OP's.
- Claims to be only an occasional drinker, and only of beer, but in fact is a heavy drinker of beer, wine and spirits.
- Claims to be a nurse/carer but is not registered as such in QLD.
- Has a police record in the Northern Territory and is wanted for questioning by QLD police.
- Has an obsession with cutting things
- Pepetrates random acts of vandalism
Possible causes of her behaviour
- Envy. Clearly she has made a mess of her own life.
- She may suffer from Korsakoff's syndrome as the result of excessive consumption of alcohol over a long period of time.
- Substance abuse.
- Schizophrenia
- or she could be just a con artist and petty criminal.
